Ingredients:

- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
- 8 sheets phyllo dough
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions:
Preparing the Filling:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the sliced apples, raisins, granulated sugar, lemon zest, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well and set aside.
Preparing the Phyllo Dough:
Melt 1/4 cup of butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Place the dry bread crumbs in a bowl and pour the melted butter over the crumbs. Mix well and set aside.
Place one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean work surface and brush it with the melted butter. Repeat with the remaining seven sheets of phyllo dough, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
Assembly and Baking:
Spread the bread crumb mixture over the top sheet of phyllo dough, leaving a 1/2 inch border around the edges. Add the apple filling on top of the bread crumbs, spreading evenly over the surface of the dough.
Roll up the dough like a jelly roll and place it seam-side down onto a baking sheet. Brush the top of the dough with the remaining melted butter.
Bake the apple strudel for 45 to 50 minutes or until it is golden brown and crispy. Remove the strudel from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes before dusting it with powdered sugar.
